Job Introduction

As our Lived Experience Volunteer Coordinator, you will have the responsibility of recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers who come from a lived experience background of gambling related harms. These volunteers will use their personal lived experience to provide support to those who are seeking help via our new recovery coach programme and digital platforms which currently includes our chatrooms and forum.

GamCare’s Services are in demand more than ever before, with over 40,000 people contacting our National Gambling Helpline every year. We want to meet the ever-changing needs of those that experience gambling harms and part of this work includes the introduction of additional digital interventions including our new online recovery coach programme.

You will work closely with colleagues to develop recruitment, training, and induction programs that enable our recovery coaches to provide the highest quality support possible, working to KPI’s and performance measures to timescales as agreed with funders.

As part of this work, you will also use data and insights to establish clear signposting and referral pathways to our new support services. You will be a creative thinker, able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure that our services adhere to safeguarding procedures and prioritise the wellbeing of our recovery coaches.

The wellbeing, development, and recovery of our volunteers is paramount to the success of this role. As such, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our volunteers are supported and empowered to provide the best possible support to those who need it most, whilst also nurturing and safeguarding our volunteers’ own recoveries as part of their journey. We believe that our beneficiaries will be more likely to trust and engage with services that are co-designed and co-delivered with individuals who share their experiences.

We are excited to welcome someone with the right skills, experience, and passion to join our team in this crucial role, and we can't wait to see the positive impact that you will have on the lives of those affected by gambling related harms.
