Job Overview

Reporting into the Senior Bid Writer, the Content Editor will be a highly detail-oriented proofreading and content editing professional. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and editing written content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

This position requires an individual who has a keen eye for detail and is able to identify errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in editing content for style, tone, and readability.

Main Duties

  • Review and edit written bid content for accuracy, clarity and consistency
  • Correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax
  • Edit content for style, tone and readability
  • Ensure that all content meets established Mitie writing guidelines and standards, along with bidding best practice (notably APMP standards)
  • Work collaboratively with the bid team and other key stakeholders to ensure that all sales collateral is polished and ready for publication
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field
  • Proven experience in proofreading and editing written content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in using editing software/tools (e.g. MS Word and PowerPoint).
