Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Nature Reserves Assistant – North West Region.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the Trust’s nature reserves in North West Yorkshire are maintained to a high standard for people and wildlife and to support our living landscapes work beyond these sites. The postholder will build strong links with communities surrounding our nature reserves, promoting the link between nature and health and wellbeing through volunteering, events and engagement. As part of this, the postholder will organise and run volunteer task days, liaise with on-site contractors, and be involved in engaging with visitors to the sites.
Personable, energetic and engaging, the ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with practical experience of land management for nature conservation. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of health and safety in relation to site management, and be certified in the use of chainsaws, brush cutters and pesticides.
